President Meyer’s Welcome Message
Scott Meyer (3L)
Hey Everybody!!! The Law Students’ Association (LSA) is so thrilled to welcome the class of 2017 to our charming little community. For those of you who don’t know, the LSA executive serves as your official representatives to the Faculty’s administration, the Students’ Union, and the greater legal community. We are also responsible for coordinating and implementing a variety of academic, professional, athletic, social, and extracurricular events throughout the academic year, and our executive team accomplishes these tasks very effectively.
At this time we would also like to acknowledge one of our new initiatives, the LSA Mental Health & Wellness Committee. This group’s formation is a testament to the fact that the LSA is truly invested in your law school experience.
On that note, we would also like to encourage first year law students to consider running as a candidate in LSA elections at the end of September. If you are someone who is community-orientated and enjoys public service, we would love to have you as a part of our team. Throughout the year, feel free to approach anyone on the LSA executive team to discuss anything you want, or you can always thank him or her for a job well done! Every single member of this LSA team lives and breathes U of A Law, and we will do whatever we can to ensure that you have the best student experience possible.
We look forward to seeing a lot of you out at our events over the upcoming year!
Scott Meyer, LSA President
