EGGS FABS and the Pandas’ First Friday Back Fundraiser – January 13th, 2012!

EGGS FABS
Mark your calendars, we’re planning to hold EGGS FABS on January 13th! We don’t have a time set yet, but it’ll start a few hours before busses leave for First Friday Back.
What’s EGGS FABS, other than an overly-long acronym? Well it’s the incredibly enjoyable combination of drinking and playing games in the Gavel! Along with Foosball and Ping-pong, we also bring in an Air Hockey table, two Dart boards, a Poker set, and a Wii with Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Wii Party, and four Wii-motes. We had a massive turnout last year, and hope to replicate that success again this year.
Once again, because it’s the greatest party of the year, we’ll be buying the most expensive keg possible (Alexander Keith’s), a standard liquor selection, and selling drinks for the ultra-low price of $3 each. There will also be food.
Unlike last year, we’ve decided just to let everyone play whatever they feel like, rather than trying to plan specific matches. Instead, the tournament will be held closer to the end of the year, likely in March. We’ll probably even be organized enough to have trophies made this time!
We’re also looking for feedback, so please contact proudman@ualberta.ca if you can think of any other games you want to play at FABS, if you have any catering suggestions, if you have SIPS and can help us with the bar or security, or if you have any ideas for the tournament week in March.
“EGGS is a great way to hang out, have fun, and meet people who are looking for a break from studying. What other club exists to promote chilling in the gavel, playing ping-pong, poker, wii, air hockey and foosball, friendly competition, and celebrating your success (or defeat) with a beer?” – Amber Poburan (2L)
“Eggs fabs was more than princess toadstool and I dominating Rainbow Road, it was more than Marcus’ shrill cries of victory over the fooz ball table, it really brought out the best in all of us. I never felt so proud of being Canadian.” – Jorge Pineda (3L)
“It was a holy hella balls-to-the-wall wicked hair-raising riot-inciting chair-throwing beer-swigging dance-till-you-drop marathon of fantastical super dance machine awesomeness, with beers. (and table games)” – Ross Brooks (3L)
“The EGGS tournament was the single greatest moment of my life” – Peter Hagel (3L)
