LSA Children’s Events

By D.J. Lynde (3L)
On November 28, 2009, the Law Students’ Association hosted their annual Children’s Holiday Party. This event was organized by our two First-Year Representatives, Geoff Geldart and Elyse Jacobson, who did an outstanding job. This annual event is a great opportunity for law students, faculty and staff with children to bring their kids to school during the festive season. Some of the children’s activities included a magic show and arts & crafts, such as dreidel making, cookie decorating, and making Christmas tree ornaments. There was even a surprise visit by Santa himself, which prompted law students studying in the library to take a break to visit with the jolly old elf.
The LSA is pursuing a new initiative to host another event for parents who are law students, faculty and staff during the Winter semester. We will host the inaugural LSA Children’s Movie Night during the evening of Friday, January 29, 2010 in Law Centre 231/237. Admission is free and all LSA members are invited! The Vancouver office of Lang Michener LLP made a generous donation that will be used to organize this event. There will be pizza, pop and goodies for each individual who attends this movie night. Please mark it off in your calendars and more information will be made available in early January.
On behalf of the LSA, we wish you & your families a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year! Good luck finishing up your memos, term papers, and writing your December examinations. See you in 2010!
